Background of Care Ethiopia
CARE is an international NGO working in more than 90 countries, including Ethiopia, with local staff and community partners. We create local solutions to tackle poverty and inequality, and we strive to uphold dignity for everyone, both in daily life and during times of crisis.
We are looking for a Communication Intern to support our projects on adolescent sexual and reproductive health, nutrition, and gender-based violence. The intern will help with communication, documentation, and networking by producing social media content and print materials, sharing achievements, key messages, and lessons learned. They will also assist in creating learning materials, developing radio and TV communication plans, and ensuring all outputs follow CARE and GAC branding standards.

- Graphic Design: Basic skills in Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or similar tools
- Social Media: Familiarity with platforms like Twitter/X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and content scheduling tools
- Photography & Video: Basic photo/video editing skills (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush)
- Digital Organization: Ability to manage shared folders (OneDrive, Google Drive) and follow file naming conventions
Desired:
- Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, Graphic Design, or a related field
The intern will work closely with project teams, government offices, local NGOs, and media outlets to strengthen networks, increase visibility, and ensure consistent messaging across platforms. Responsibilities also include collecting stories and visuals from the field, documenting milestones and best practices, maintaining communication material repositories, and supporting the distribution of knowledge products through digital and print channels.
